The clothes everyone wanted to steal
Cane & Co. started, honestly, with a closet.
My stepmom Anna's closet.
Anna came into our lives later, but her closet quickly became something of a legend — my stepsisters, my sister-in-law, and all of our friends would leave wearing something of hers more often than not. There's something about the women in your life sharing closets, swapping dresses for a wedding, borrowing a top before dinner — that's the feeling I wanted to bottle. Cane & Co. is curated in that spirit. Pieces you'd happily lend, and ones you'd quietly hope nobody asks to borrow.
I'm a fifth-generation Floridian, and our family's roots in Palm Beach County run deep. We started in farming — and over five generations have stayed close to the land in different ways. Today, the family business sells the tractors that keep this part of the country growing. Most people don't realize it, but the western half of Palm Beach County is one of the largest agricultural producers in America: sugarcane, sweet corn, bell peppers, leafy greens, miles of fields just inland from the shore.
The palm in our logo grows from a sugarcane trunk on purpose. A small nod to the land we're from — where ag meets the beach, and where five generations of my family have called home.
"Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord… She will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream."
